Motor would be going in a C5Z. Can I just bolt on a standard 'wet sump' oil pan on one of these LS7's or is it mandatory to use the dry sump system?
If anyone's done this were did you mount the tank, etc?
Thanks.

Its not mandatory but you will have to buy parts for the swap...
LS1/6/2 style oil pump.
LS2 (old style - assuming C5 PCM used for tuning) timing chain/gear set.
LS2 Front Cover with cam sensor harness extension.
Reuse C5 Harmonic balancer with spacer in front of it (compensate for extra crank snout length).
Reuse C5 oil pan.
Machine hole in block for dip stick tube... so you can check your wet sump oil level...
IMO, you would be better off keeping factory dry sump... getting the C6Z06 Oil Tank and put it where the battery is, fab your own oil lines, and move the battery to the trunk...
What are you going to do about the 58x reluctor wheel?
