Default 4.060 bore on ls2?

i found an ls2 block thats already been bored 30 over, but there are scrathes on the cylinder walls, i know you can take the iron blocks to 4.060, i was wondering if i could take an ls2 block to 4.060 or is this not possible. im going with an all motor setup but im not for sure if the sleeves are thick enough to go this big of a bore

well im not very familiar with everything to do to a bare block to prep it.

i figured since im going all motor, its not going to stress the block as much

looks like i need to do some researching and learn some **** before i move on

you should get it sonic checked and magnafluxed... sonic checking check cylinder wall thickness, and magnafluxing checks for cracks. I dont know if you can though, I dont know the thickness specs on the LS2

why not bore it over .01 to make it 4.040? Are the scratches that deep?

Doesn't seem to make sense to me unless the block is free and even then paying $1000 for a new block would probably be cheaper in the long run.

i know thats pushing it but im not going to be using a power adder so im not going to be stressing it as much.

i talked to the guy selling it (ive only seen some pictures of it) and he said going 10 over should get rid of all the scratched.

if i did go only 10 more over wouldnt i have to get a custom piston since its such an odd size?

Thats looking pretty tore up. I wouldnt go .60 over. After you spend time and money getting the block sonic tested and magnafluxed and bored, you could have a new block to play with for what really seems minimum more $ to me. The block wouldnt be a part to skimp on IMO.

ya, i am just going to try to get a new block instead, instead of trying to get a used block that going to cost just as much to get checked and machined to work
