I do understand that getting a custom built 427 (or a 402) from one of the vendors will be cheaper and would make more power. However this C6 is an absolute daily driver that sees 20k+ miles a year, and hence OEM drivability and reliability would not be compromised.

I see some vendors (like SDPC) are selling wet sump LS7 crate engines. What would be needed to run that engine in a 06 C6? Has anyone done it? I searched but couldn't find any info about such combos.

As long as you match reluctor and go wet sump it is pretty much plug, play and tune.

Swap the crankshaft trigger (if its an 05) and run a few of our adapter harnesses. If it is wet sump it would be very easy.

Yes, into a C5 which is really is not much different. If the engine is properly prepared in terms of crank sensor, sump, clutch etc. it is a long weekend's work. There are no first time challenges.

It should fairly easy... I assume you would keep dry sump. I haven't done it in a C6 but I don't forsee any hangups. If you can take a look at a C6Z06 and the bracketry that holds the oil tank in place that would be a start. If the bracketry is a direct swap then all you need to do is buy that, the factory oil tank and lines and you should be all set. I believe all 2006 C6's have the 58x reluctor wheel / 4x trigger cam sprocket. If so you should easily be able to swap in the LS7 without hassle. I would also obtain the C6Z06 fuel pump / sender assembly for the driver tank. Maybe consider a larger radiator... probably some other minor details but that gives you an idea...

at least build it up some. don't just stick a stock motor ,add a cam and headers. it will still be a great daily driver w/more grunt then if you run into a real zo6,you will suprise the hell out of him.
