Default L92 crate engine

Can anyone give me a rough estimate when a GM L92 crate engine will be available to the open market? Time is running out for me, I have about 2 or 3 more months to get an engine in my Elky. I have been waiting until the good stuff comes available, but am getting impatient. The LS7 crate engine would be out of my price range after I spend a lot to get it put in. One sponser here says they have an LS7 crate engine without the dry sump, but cant find it on their website. I do not want the dry sump because I have no place to put the tank in my pickup. Right now I might be stuck with a 575 HP, 408 cube engine and I do not want that much HP for a DD. JB

You mean the LS7 shortblock from SDPC or from Texas Speed?

SDPC has recently redone there web site.
Quickest way to get to the LS stuff is from the main page click on the "LS Gen III / Gen IV Performance" option (center area of the page).
or go to http://www.sdparts.com/categories/LS...rformance.aspx
From there it would be engine components then engine assemblies and the last one on the page is the LS7 shortblock.

Well, no, actually what I want is a complete engine and I understand SDPC has an LS7, but with the wet sump instead of the dry sump. I would really like to have a complete L92 crate engine straight from GM. I am a fan of cubic inches, but the LS7 is kind of expensive, worth it, I guess. When you are old and on Soc. Sec. you look for what you can get cheapest and easiest to work with. JB

I am technically challenged, I do not understand how PMs work. Try E-mail. JB

GM just announced it is giving 24 month/24k mile warranties on its crate motors..

It'll be interesting to see what they offer for the high perfomrance l92 application and what its cost will be.

What good is the warrenty if it is good ONLY if a GM dealer installs it, and my local dealer here in Louisville says they refuse to do it. They did not say why, I guess they just make too much money on changing oil for the new car customers. JB
