Yes we are late, BUT we are the only ones with this much testing and detail. We wanted to make sure we provided the best cost highest performing L92 head package we could. We are the first to offer the complete package though.

Thanks
Hank

Actually you guys did this faster then others. You are the first to offer a complete conversion kit for the 6.0, 402, and 408 combinations. The price is also nice. Just one suggestion, from what I can tell REV is introducing a part number for a set of 2.18/1.60 valves that can be cut down for the L92 heads.... you ought to offer a package that includes aftermarket valves. IMO the porting is almost a moot point since the heads flow so darn well....... unless of course you are looking to go with a custom sheetmetal intake or seriously ported GMPP or Edelbrock setup.

I have one of the best working on my heads, I am confident that he will produce heads that leave much to be desired from the L76 intake. I think I will just leave that power on the table for when a few more intakes are on the market and tested.

So, will yall be offering a aftermarket valve with these heads as well in the future?

To not upset any apple carts I can not give names. But we have tested on the flow bench aftermarket valves. There was no change to the intake flow and a slight 1-2 cfm decrease in exhaust flow over stock valves.

We did not test on the chassis or engine dyno. Only flowbench data.

Thanks
Hank

I understand....... the only reason I assume the benifit of an aftermarket valve is 1.) Weight of the valve, and 2.) most aftermarket valves have a angle on them vs the stocker having a smooth curve.

I am now curious why your aftermarket valves did not better then the stockers?? hmmmmmmm.

Merry Christmas Boys and Girls.

We lowered the retail price $100.00 on P/N 12293 & P/N 12292 Package.

Part# 12292 (drive by wire) - $2095.95
Part# 12293 (throttle cable LS1 kit) - $2195.95

The reason for the lowering is the following: We want our customers to purchase this kit from SLP and no one else. We want our customers to be more then happy. At this price, value, power and expertise we should not be beat by anyone. We will update the new products page today with the new retail price.

The P/N for the throttle bracket alone is P/N 12509 - $69.95 each.

This will all be available and in stock by April 2nd.

Thanks
Hank

damn.... once more folks realize the potential of these heads HP:$ this should sell like hotcakes for those folks with the LS2's...... and I am sure plenty of 402 and 408 folks might jump on this as well.

I might be wrong here, but aren't the stock l92's 72cc chambers. Assuming .006 for every cc, that would leave you with a 67cc chamber if you are milling .030 off. Could you please clarify the 64cc chamber.

No, you are correct. Stock is 72cc. But, the SLP head is a 64cc chamber. Assuming .006 for every cc is just an assumption. Close but not exact. Shape of combustion chamber needs to be taken into account. The heads are milled approx .030". The text in the new products section reads "The SLP Heads have been decked approx .030" to 64cc Combustion Chamber"

I could tell you the exact number down the the .001" but then our competitors would not have to do the math, their own homework, and the leg work.

The next question might be piston to valve clearance with the decked heads:
I assure you that we have checked piston to valve clearance for many setups. Here are a couple: For a stock LS2 cam with stock pistons: over .129" exhaust and .171" intake clearance. Piston to valve clearance on a SLP ZL402 with the 51014 cam yeilds .0985" exhaust .1623" Intake.

We are using these heads on our New 2005-2007 ZL500HP C6 Packages and 2005-2006 500HP GTO Packages, using the stock CAM! These new packages will be appearing on the new products page in the next couple of weeks.

I hope I answered your question and more.

Thanks
Hank

What about a L92 Stroker Long block?

A 402 LS2 stoker with L92 heads and L76 manifold kit would be nice.
But for a little more you could offer a 414 to 416 L92 stoker with L92 heads and L76 manifold.

Just a thought.

This is a great idea. We have recently finished our 440 HP Pac for the TBSS. (exhaust, cold air and tune) Adding these heads will be great. We have access to a few TBSS. We will look into working on that package soon.

Thanks
Hank
