Question L92, modifications to fit in a C5???

What all has to be pulled, ground-off, and/or crimped to make a L92 short-block fit in a C5???

Mechanically it is just one engine mount or block that need an "adjustment". Clutch?
The rest of the knock sensor, cam sensor, TB stuff is cable related.

When say "adjustment", do you mean ground-off???

You must either grind a lug off one side of the block or cut the engine mount to clear the lug. I chose to cut the engine mount but neither are a big deal.
The choice of clutch requires a LS1 pilot bearing and slave and TO, not LS7 or LS2 even with LS7/2 FW, or you can use heavy duty LS1/6 clutch/flywheel.

Why can't you use the LS2 fwheel with the LS7 clutch? I have that setup in my car now and it works great, I have an LS1 though.

L92 mods are exactly the same as LS2 into C5. No difference including the requisit front cover/sensor and timing set change.

Do you know if this lug must be ground off when using a LS7 block?

I totally read what you said wrong, I thought you were saying you couldn't use the LS2/LS7 clutch.

The best way to grind that boss off is to use a skill saw equipped with a carbide blade... That boss will be gone in 60 seconds... Don't expect it to be pretty though...
