Quick question, I take it the resleeved KATECH LS2 427 sleeved blocks are pretty bullet proof, b/c over the years since resleeving has taken place i know of more than a few sleeves (Not Katechs but other tuners) big cubed lS1/6 motors that have taken a dump (but am I correct in assuming that these KATECH 427 sleeved LS2 blocks are pretty much BULLET PROOF) when it comes to dropped sleeves, etc.!

Yes the Katech block is pretty bullet proof. Their method is great, it will not have problems. I've been involved with sleeving blocks since 98, trust me I know what works and what doesnt. If I can get a in-house machine shop going one day, I'll just do my own.

How fast can you spin a LS2 427 ? I'm looking for an engine that can spin 7500 RPM at a sustainable period for some high speed runs in the future.

I know some of the Cadillac's CTS were running de-stroked 427's to the mid 8000 RPM range.

7500 wouldn't be a problem... It'll just require the right lightweight rotating and valvetrain parts...

I would suggest Morel lifters and shaft rockers. The cam will be pretty big to pull that rpm. A callies magnum and compstar rods with a nice lightweght Wiseco piston in there will also help.

Thanks, I'm in the process of completing a body kit and converting my coupe to an FRC. Got the suspension and interior to complete and will then be tackling the motor.

Drive train will be updated with RPM stage V tranny and hardened mainshaft, DTE rear differential stage V, DTE Brace,Textralia EXO twin clutch.

Blownvette,

Why do you have an RPM goal? Shouldn't you have a HP goal and then gear it accordingly?

Whats the difference between the two decks? If I wanted a Warhawk assembled shortblock within the next month, is it possible? and whats the approximate cost?
