427 top end
LS7 Heads/Manifold I'm using the LS7 heads/intake on an LS7 block with an aftermarket reciprocating assembly (Cola crank, Callies rods and Diamond pistons), for an 11.24:1 combo.
The engine is done except for pushrods , (3/8" moly) which are on backorder. Once they're in, I should get it in the car sometime later this spring.
I was going to go with a crate engine but did not want to have to fool with the dry sump and 58x reluctor issues. My route was also somewhat cheaper since I've done all the work myself. This allowed the use of the LS7 heads/intake and remain within my budget.
My target was engine manners and performance similar to the LS7 Corvette. To that end, I using a very mild cam, so my resullts will not be as testosterone-laden or spectacular as an all-out build. My dual-quad, 13:75:1, 4.56 days are behind me now. and I prefer the velvet hammer approach (power and driveability).
As for the difference in performance between the heads/intake of the LS7 and L76/L92 combos, I don't think that anyone on here has done a meaningful comparison yet.
It very well may be that the L76/L92 is best for the street.... GM did choose to debut the heads on a truck (albeit a Caddy)!
There are some very good (read: streetable) L92/L76 400+ cid results posted by WKMCD, C_Willams and 2c5s.

I just started up and am tuning a wet sump converted, LS7 with Grand AM cam, ported L92s and L76 in a C5. No dyno yet, but according to the porter the heads flow as well on the exhaust side as LS7 heads. The car feels very very strong. Torque everywhere.
