LS2 timing chain just bolts on ls1?

LS2 timing chain just bolts on ls1?

I saw another member with the LS2 timing chain on the LS1. Is this an exact fitting set up? I'm assuming it's a budget way to go?

From my understanding the top gear won't due to 4 bolts vs 3 on the LS1 but the chain will work on the LS1 gears. I have an LS2 chain on mine. Someone correct me if i'm wrong on the first part.

The LS2 chain and sprocket bolts right in.

LS2 chain is a up grade from the LS1 chain ... it is a direct replacment for the LS1 chain..and a bargan on top of that... $28 ...

If it were not too late I would go back to a LS2. It is a nice chain and it works with a split cover. I have never heard of a problem with one and have run them on two previous motors. My double roller has twice the slack.

So it would be good to keep the Timing Gears I am getting in the 6.0l that I bought, and just get a LS2 Chain and run with that..

Yes, the gears are the same or basically the same. Basically the LS2 chain link bars are made out of a thicker material. Less likely to stretch or break.

i have a 6.o l also, would the ls2 chain just bolt up or would i have 2 change the gears? would chaging the chain by itself be enoguh for a 236/242 cam? or should i just buy the whole kit? thanks in advance!
