Default ques.about ls2 cam timing set in orig. ls1 car

Doing a little research about putting a 402 CI ls2 block in a originally equipped ls1 car. on the LS2, the cam timing is taken from the front cover, off of the cam gear and on the ls1 it is taken off of the back of the cam. My question is when putting a ls2 block in a ls1 car, can you just buy a ls2 cover, use the ls2 cam gear and be ok as far as the pcm readings? does anyone make aftermarket adjustable timing sets for the ls2's? i am having trouble finding any specifically for an ls2 setup. thanks for any help

No problem. LS2 timing cover, LS2 cam gear and adapter harness, done all the time.

is the ls2 cam gear the only way to go though? I was hoping for an ajustable double roller set to dial it in. Does the adapter harness just extend it to the timing cover? It looks to be the same style plug as the ls1.
