Default Aftermarket Pistons for LS7?

Putting together a list of parts to build a 427" motor, who makes off the shelf pistons to work with LS7 heads? Also, do the ETP LS7 heads need LS7 pistons, or do they work with standard LSX pistons?

Katech make LS7 pistons, I think Diamond may have some now. Yes, the ET heads would work better with LS7 pistons. The valve angle and placement is different. Good luck!!

I can get you Wiseco off the shelf with the 1/16 1/16 3/16 ring stack. Made 571rwhp with a 427 setup and GMPP LS7 heads at 11.5:1.

Thanks! I saw Katech offered them on their LS2 427, but couldn't find them seperatly on their website. Probably need to cal them..

Katech seems to make/sell a bunch of stuff they don't list on their website.

How much are the pistons? Please PM me if you can't list them here.

Thats some nice HP using stock LS7 heads. I am hoping for something in the 600ish whp with a bit more compression, ported LS7's and maybe a sheetmetal intake.

BTW, how much is shipping on a shortblock from cananda to Cali?

Pistons and rings are right around $800. Your quite aways from me.. But shipping shouldn't be more then $450-500. Don't forget the GM LS7 heads are cnc'd to 250cc runners. The ETP LS7's are also VERY nice. The cam that made the 571 was a low 240's mid 250's cam with a inverted lobe. With a touch more compression and a cam change 600 should be reachable. BTW, How many miles on that 347 now ...

Thanks for all the info! Trying to figure out how to get in the 9's NA, I think 600 whp may do it, but if I got any extra, that would be a bonus .

I have 3100 miles on my 347...

Dan, what does your car weigh at the line? If its around 3200lbs you will need less then 600 rwhp.. I had a car go 9.60's@140+ with 540rwhp at 3000lbs...

We have 11:1, 12:1 and are working on 9:1 and 14:1 pistons for the LS7. We also have an 10.5:1 and 11:1 for a 6.100 rod. Most in 4032 and 2618 material. All hardcoat anodized with big valve pockets. Download our catalog of some items not seen on our website.
