Default sad day... hole in my block.. help!

well... yea my car has been making noise for the past few days... and i thought it was a couple of things.. first i thought it was a dry lifter, so i added an oil additive... 2nd i thought it was bad engine ping so i added an octane booster... well today i started it up... and KABOOOM... oil was spilling everywhere... got underneath my car saw i blew a nice size hole in my block..

i have 2 options of course... replace the block?... is it really worth it or am i doing it the cheap way??.. and if thats okay.. where can i find a stock 01 SS block for sale..

2... would it be wise to buy an engine instead?? thats a major operation for big money.. but would it be the best option... i really can't afford this... but i dont want to experience this again..

thx -mikey

J.B Weld it back together! J/K. A new shortblock would probably be your best bet.More then likely there is no salvageable internal parts in that block.

Yeah, I'd say your shortblock is toast.

Why not spend the money (granted you have enough) and get a forged 408 on spray ?? I don't know what kind of tranny or dif you have though...so that might not be the best idea....

I live precariously through others.

Default well decent news..

my insurance company is willing to pick it up... which is pretty cool... they are going to drop a used motor in with 60K... and a 3 month gaurantee. Which is kind of a miracle considering my motor had 69K when it popped. So i'll be running shortly
