SDPC or others - new GMPP LSX heads? The latest Super Chevy documents the buildup of an LSX-block based 454 for Reggie Jackson's Camaro project. This project also uses "prototype" LS7-style performance heads with 6 bolts/cyl, described as "LSX heads".
Does anyone on the inside know:
- Do these heads use the same port designs as the LS7, or are they better?
- Will they ship fairly soon, or are we talking a year or more?
I'm putting together a combination for a 427 or larger aluminum block LS motor for a '69 Camaro project I've just started.

No real eta on the new LSX heads yet.
Since they are not in production yet, any info on them is purely speculative.
My source at GMPP warned me that it would be late 2007 at the earliest,
which probably means March of 2008.

I don't understand why GM did not have the heads ready at the same time.
I could have sold a million of them. Oh well.
Depending on the power level, you can still use an LSX block with standard
4 bolt per cylinder heads, especially on a N/A build.
