if i get new main bearings do i have to line bore?

If you're building a race engine, it's always smart to line hone a block after it's been run & heat cycled.

When using new aftermarket studs it's required due to the different stud material and different (increased) bolt torque - the bore changes size when you do this.

Other than this, simply installing new bearings does not require line honing.
