Default Texas Speed

I'm putting this thread in this section because this is where the original thread started and where all of the folks veiwing it were lurking.

This is an update to my thread which originally started as an inquiry as to wether or not the board experts thought there was an issue with my motor. It spiraled into a **** on Texas Speed which was partially fueled by me as I got frustrated and bombarded with PMs from other members.

For those that remember the thread, Texas Speed has disassembled the motor and can't find anything wrong with the assembly. Having said that they can't explain why there are strange marks in the cyl walls and want to bore the thing out .010 and install new pistons and rings at no cost to me. They also offered to fly me down to take a look at the pistons and rings and check them myself. We both are cool and agree that the marks should not be there and TSP went over an exhaustive list of clearances checked which were found to be on target.

At this point I feel TSP has no obligation to rebuild the motor. Hey crap happens and if the thing is within tolerances its within tolerances. However, they are going out of there way to make sure the motor is solid even thought it appears to be no fault of their own. My comments here are simply made to identify Texas Speed's efforts to stand behind their work and ensure customers realize that they follow through with what they say about quality and customer service. Some may say they are backed into a corner, but I assure you, I've stated that if the thing spec'd out right, I would take it back no questions asked. They just want to make it right and make sure everyone knows it.

We also had a long talk about some other threads similar to this one. I think Texas knows how I feel about people not taking responsibility for their own actions, and I'm fairly confident they understand I did not start this whole thing looking for some "free ride". I see people dick up installations and break ins all the time and try to blame everyone but themselves. We just can't point the finger at myself or the parts with any degree of certainty so they just gave me the benefit of the doubt. I guess I'm saying this because I don't want this to be an invitation to open a floodgate of posts where people publically bash a company to try a pressure them into fixing a mistake made by the customer. I feel a little guilty this spun into something like that even after taking steps to ensure there was no fault on my end.

Props to Texas Speed for the efforts made to get me back on the road

So, motor should be on its way shortly. I'll let y'all know how she does.

They screwed up my mail order tune twice, I can't imagine what they originally did with your engine.

Big thumbs up for Texas Speed. I was gonna have my 408 through them but after reading the older thread i decided to go to LME. Both are good companies but the TSP thread scared me.

I am happy to see that TSP stood by their product even when it doesnt appear to be their fault. And to fly you out there is just really generous. I gotta give big prop's to this company.

I am sure I will love my LME but if and when it comes time for another motor.. MAYBE TSP will be getting a call from me.

Great thread.. Great service.. Great outcome.
