Darton will have MID sleeves shortly for the LS2 and LS7 blocks. They will go from 4.125" to 4.200". and handle strokes up to 4.250". One sleeve covers the entire range.

The LS2 LS7 MID were supposed to be finished last month. A problem with one of Darton's machining centers put the project back a bit. I have sets on order for LS7 blocks I have here to repair that are too badly cracked to repair with dry sleeves. I expect Darton will have the sleeves sometime this month.

Keep up the good work in the engineering for LS based engines.

454 would be 4.185" bore x 4.125" stroke which is no problem with the Darton dry sleeves in the LS2 block.

I have several running on the street with 4.125" stroke, working on two more at the moment. No oil burning problems.
I did an MID a couple of years ago with the shorter 5.675" sleeves. That engine has no oil burning problems either. That build was for Dutchess Camaro's Firebird which was written up in GM High Tech Performance.
The current LSx block has a shorter cylinder wall length. I'd be careful with this over 4" stroke for the street.

I do short blocks time permitting. Complete engines are a problem with the back log of blocks I have to do.

Currently Erik is building me a RED sleeved ls2 combination. It will have a 4.250" stroke and 4.125-.040 bore. final bore size not set in stone all depends on (what ever technical thing its dependant on..lol) thickness of something I'd imagine..hahaha.
I was originaly was looking for a 4" stroke with the biggest bore I could get. Spoke with Eric and he educated me on a few things and now I'm on the current path. Hopeing for 600+rwhp with torque to spare. 4000+ lb Camaro here.

Cool, kind've thought they were! I checked their blocks out at the Sema show and talked to one of their reps. I was very impressed with what they did with welding that little bridge or rail support, as some might call it, around each cylinder. I was even torn between this and the dry sleeve from RED. I went the cheaper route just because I am not planning to ever run that much power. Seemed like overkill for me!? But I can definately see it's a nice peice and should stand up to gobs of boost and power!! Traver
