Yeah hopefully I will get it all together in a few weeks. I will have to drive a couple of hours to get it tuned. There are not any good tuners close to my home. I will post the results when done!

This is truly a strange thread. A 402 with a baby cam, 117 lsa, and 1.8 rockers??? I've heard of some weird set ups, but this takes the cake. As was posted before, anything less than a 23x X 24x is way too small. It's interesting that Patrick G buys into it, in light of his past recommendations. Up to this point I've thought his ideas were spot on, however now I have my doubts.

Personally I think a 236-240 in a 346 is just right. In a stroker? Well it would be cool too, but something a little bigger would have been more in line with what I was thinking.

Minimum 240-244-114

yeah, it's a shame that not everyone wants what you want. good thing the cam i got meets your minimum requirements, on the duration, at least.

the cam patrick g is agreeing on has a 112LSA

what in the world were they thinking using a 220/224 in a 402???

I'm leaning in the direction of the 099 cam. Does anyone know if I can run a supercharger with it?

It should, but I would call VINCI, Crane, or both to get their opinion!

Hey Guys,

This is my first post over here on LS1 Tech, I have been on the Corvette Forum for a while. The Vinci cam 099 & 100 was the custom grind Roger and I cam up with for my 440 Darton sleeved motor. I wanted a very broad spread of power, I was willing to give up some peak numbers for a very drivable spread. My car puts down 540 at the rear wheels and pulls from 1200 rpm and bangs the rev limiter set at 6500. Mashing the pedal at 40 mph in fifth gear and feeling the seats bend back is really an addictive feeling. To close up the lobe center would bump the peak numbers up but stop the engine from pulling the last 500-800 rpms. It also would not pull as cleanly at the bottom. To get those lost upper revs back the lift would need to be increased, that was more stress than I wanted on my valvetrain. I did not want a street car that I would need to rev it to 2 grand to get it to move. The 117 lobe center is not for everyone but I wouldn't have it any other way.

here's the video clip you sent in to vinci of your car.

i agree, not everyone wants peaky, car bouncing, extra choppy exhaust sounding cars. while that's neat to have, some want a more refined and subtle sound. mine sounds like it's a stock cube motor with a decent cam in it. they won't know what hit them.

here's a current idle sound clip from my car. have just over 500 miles on it. idle tuning is getting close to where i want it. drive ability is great. instant throttle response. 50 mph and flor it and the tires break loose pretty good. granted i need some new tires.
