I think the fullsize 1500s might get the 4.5L diesel in '09. That's just what I've read on the net though so.....

I think a V-8 Colorado with a W2W Rotrex kit will be my next present to myself

I agree. I just hope they offer the 5.3 in multiple body styles and drivetrains. I wonder if they will offer an E85 5.3 in the Colorado?? That would rock!!!

Today my truck turned 4. If i keep my truck indefinitly then I will be putting in a 5.3l or 6.0l in it. I think it would be a great thing to have a 5.3l, even a 4.8 in the truck. I honestly don't know why GM even bothered with the 4.8 since at least in the full size trucks it get the exact same gas mileage as the 5.3 with less power. Anyways a colorado would have to be priced for thousands cheaper than a full size truck with the same options, otherwise why not get the full size? For performance wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a 4cyl colorado and then put whatever drivetrain you want? Its a pain but if they throw v8s in them it should make conversion kits cheap and easy...

Update.... It still sounds cool.

Trans: M30... if that helps anyone out.
Axle ratio: 4.10

Enjoy.

Will the 4.10 be the only ratio available? What about 4 wheel drive?

And what trans is that??

I'm guessing one of the autos. 4,5, or 6 forward gears?

I think that the M30 is the 4L60E.

4.10 in 4wd for sure..w/a little bigger tire. 2wd - don't know...right now i'm assuming the same axle ratio and tires size for various reasons.

Got the trans info from a sheet that got sent out...i don't know what the tran RPO means either.....but I'm thinking it's a 5 speed, but since i haven't been able to drive one yet, or get under one, i can't say for sure.

That would be a sweet combo. I wouldn't ditch the King Ranch for one, but it would be nice to see GM put a Gen. III mill in that truck.

As long as I can buy one without a huge "package" price (like being forced to get a certain trim level just to get the engine) and get it in stripper form, I'm in. The only option boxes I want to check are 5.3 engine and 4x4 in the extended cab model. Everything else is just dead weight...
