If you don't mind me asking what year is that engine. I'm guessing your referring to LSX as in the ls6 from the musclecar era. That's my thinking since I noticed the distributer on it. Please fill me in.

It's the GMPP LSX iron block. It's based off of the current LS series engines and can be setup with different types of ignition and fuel injection.

First off, awsome! Secondly, this is the first LSX up and running? Thirdly, why did it take so long for an LSX to come together? Was it the lack of heads, internals or acessories available?

The first one running was the Reggie Jackson 454 a few months back, (block number 1 I believe). Jackson's engine made 641 HP with 616 Ft. Lbs. with a single 850 Holley. Most all LSX parts will bolt up to it.

Yep, 3 engines were built by GMPP for the Reggie car. One is in the Camaro, another in the street Impala SS that was on the Hot Rod Power Tour. I have the block from the third engine.

Also the Race Impala LSX has an LSX engine. Brian Tompson also has one in his Solstice. It has a Harrup/Eaton Supercharger and LS7 Heads. I think that it makes in excess of 1000 Horsepower.

Tom's turbo motor should be done soon. I am sure there are some others that are running by now.

Your going to see a bunch coming out soon as people get their parts.

Life is good!

I just received mine on Thursday of last week. It will be a 454 NA. It's going into my 64 Chevy II street car.

Im hoping to see some more LSX's coming out soon. I would have figured the day the block was released, there'd be a bunch up and running later that week.
