C5 427 Dyno Results

C5 427 Dyno Results Today I rented a local DynoJet and tuned my 427. This is only the second time that I have done any tuning so I am still quite new at it.
This is the setup:
The conditions today at dyno time were 89 degrees, 15% relative himidity, and the barometric pressure was 24.12. The baro is not a typo. I am at high altitude.
The numbers were 494 rwhp at just over 5900 rpm and 492 rwtq at about 4600 rpm.
Look at that torque!
This is the setup:
- SDPC 427 shortblock based on a LS7 block
- Livernois motorsports stage 2 L92 heads
- Comp Cams 230/242 115+0 cam
- stock L76 intake with stock 90mm TB and 39# injectors
- Dynatech 1-3/4" headers
- stock Z06 cat back

It idles nicely at 900. It has some lope but not a lot.

How does it idle? As fas as making 500/500 I'd say your there (on a cooler day).

Looks like a wonderful street engine! I bet that thing will snap your head back at any speed.

High altitude kills performance. Yes that really is a 1.28 correction factor. The shop with the dyno is located at an altitude of 6370 feet.

I think that there is some more in it too. I am still learning to tune so I am sure that some is missing due to that.

I am going to spend some time doing idle tuning in the coming week. It idles pretty good now but a little tuning should make it even better.

Super curve. Spend some time tuning at idle and you will get that to idle smoothly at 700 rpm.
