LSX bowtie block
LSX bowtie block Hey guys i am new around here but anyways i am looking to start modding my 2001 A4 STOCK WS6 yes stock but anywho i want to do the full package new block, a 12 bolt, suspension, tranny and so on but i wanna go all motor and im not sure what setup i should go with i got a quote from HPE a month back for the new LSX block but i am not sure i wanna go iron considering iron will add more weight. Is the LSX coming in aluminum form? My budget is 30k for a weekend cruiser/showcar so money really is not an object the funds are there. So please i need any and all input thanks.

If you're going to be going all suspension, ie, tubular a-arms, K-member, etc... you'll probably drop the extra weight of the LSX block compared to an aluminum up-front. Plus, I'm sure you'll be getting rid of the AIR system on your 2001, which will definitely put you in the clear weight wise for the LSX. I would probably opt for the LSX block, since you can take the bores a lot further and that block is made to handle serious power.
