Comp 234/238 597.605 116
I changed my 402/L92 cam to a smaller 234/238 597.605 116. It idles nice and I can drive it in 6th @ 1K RPM and just hit the gas. No bucking or bad manners.
I lost some power over the last cam which was very similar to yours, but this car is a street car, not a race car so a few horses aren't missed.

well i will not run an LG cam that i wont be told the specs period.
RGKSR- what exactly cam did you have before? i love the way my car sounds but the bucking gets old quick, especially in traffic that i drive in every day. also my cam seems to "drop off" above 6k. mind range is great prob the best i could hope for but low rpm sucks to say the least.
i want something will make power from 1500 to 7k cleanly. prob not going to happen though i know. from what i have been reading on here lately is for the most part L:92 heads perfer 15* of overlap or less. mine is alot more than that. i am thinking of going with a little less of a split then what i am now say 6-8* and then try one on a 112 or 114

I think the 15deg overlap is BS. I've seen lots of guys make power including Shirl Dickey with a HUGE cam and texas-speed 251/259 111. These are on 418+ ci motors though. Best thing to do is make some calls to texas-speed and vengeance and see what they are using and their thoughts. Every response you get on this board will be hearsay for the most part.

well its really hard to tell. i agree many things that i read on here is heresay. i was just wanting to get opinions on here on what people would run or are running. most of the threads are of 400+ci too. i havent seen many people that are posting about 364's or 370's in here. really LGs 490rwhp is the only one that i can remember that they posted about but no cam specs

230/240 XE-R lobes 113+2, 9 degrees of overlap @.50" and same intake valve closing point (46 ABDC) as you're using now. 4/46 on intake, 55/5 on exhaust. This would provide a huge driveability improvement and only a modest performance decrease.
