Could a LS7 Crankshaft be used on an LS2 to make a 402???.. just wondering if anyone has done this? or if its even possible

It can be used but you need to run ls7 oil pump front cover and drysump oiling because the snout of the crank is longer to accept the dry sump pump.

ditto what bluedevilz06 said, that would be a killer forged crank for a 402 application, I just happen to have one for sale.

The longer snout is really not an issue as you can make a spacer and use a LS2 pump and cover. The issue is balancing with heavier aftermarket rods and pistons. There is a reason they used the TI rods.

factory bob weight is set at 15XX grams from the factory. If you are at or below that it shouldn;t be a problem. if heavier, your machaine shop can just take out some of the mallory and add a touch more to balance it out.

FWIW, katechs pistonson stock LS7 rods 4.125 bore is under that at 1450 grams.

i have a crank and a set of titanium rods from a ls7 if interested 700 for the crank 1000 for the titanium rods
