Is there a guide for product HP ratings I noticed some manufacturers posting the recommended max power levels for their products but did not find much in the way of a comparison. Has anyone ever compiled a list for engine internals?
Anything of that nature would be nothing more then an educated guess.
The problem with going off that, i've seen people install a "475rwhp" heads/cam combination on their LS1 and have it dyno 450rwhp ;convince themself something is wrong with the car. Leaving themself with a conclusion, the installation was done wrong, the tuning wasn't right. When all along theirs nothing wrong and produces good track times.
Generally I look at our camshaft offerings and say in this combination it should produce this conservative number, anything else is a bonus.

more so than combinations, I was thinking something how much power the part can handle, i.e., Eagle H-bem rods - 500hp, Lunati Billet rods - 900hp. Or at a certain boost level go from a certain deck thickness to the next level (OEM to aftermarket) for instance. At the next level go with 6-stud heads, etc.
The goal is to choose a desired power level and pick the appropriate part with out overspending or buying more of a heavier / overkill product than I need.
