Default Reving issue...

My motor is pretty build up, but it doesnt rev much faster than stock. I have a 12.5:1, trex, 4.1" stroke, all the boltons. Its a M6 with an aluminum flywheel. It put down in the area of 500rwhp and 475rwtq. The car is no sloutch, but is there cause for concern. Also the cam peaked rather early-about 6000rpm- could the cam possibly be advance too much. I'm not trying to get into a pissing match of whos car revs faster, I just need to see what the deal is.

How are your LTFT's? I noticed my car was not "snappy" when revving when my VE table was rich and I was pulling a lot of fuel - which showed up as high negative LTFT's.

I had someone else tune the car, but I am in the market for software now. I know when he was tuning it he just kept adding fuel until it stopped making power. I believe I have 27* of timing.

Sounds to me like your VE table needs some tweaks. A stock VE table in a big cam car will do exactly what you are describing, I know from experience. A long drive with scanning software like HP Tuners and some tuning knowledge will let you see the problem and make the necessary changes.

Exactly. If your tuner only "scaled the maf" to get the fueling right, it'll make power up top, but feel like a dog.
It needs to be SD tuned, and then turn the maf back on if you want, and scale it then.
It'll run so much better you wont believe.

I had the same complaint with my 346 12:1 233/239. It just did not rev like a race motor. I tried many tunes, VE table changes made it better, but the thing that helped it most was the SD tuning. Throw that MAF away. Write your car specs in your sig so we can see what we are working with.
