Default Darton LS2 LS7 MID sleeved blocks

I finally received the first three sets of the new phosphate coated 5.800" long Darton MID liners suitable for LS2 or LS7 blocks which I have had on order for some time. The phosphate coating was introduced to minimize rusting of the outer surface of the sleeves during dyno testing.

The new sleeves are designed for finished bores from 4.125" to 4.200". The sleeves are long enough to support strokes to 4.25". Max cubic inch 471 @ 4.200" bore with 4.250" stroke.

I have one finished LS7 block in stock at the moment with two more in the works. The attached photo is of the first block.

Special introductory pricing on all three. Call for details.

That first pic makes the sleeve width look huge.

Hey Steve,

I bought a 387 Darton MID sleeved LS1 from a friend of mine, and have a couple questions about the MID Sleeves if you don't mind answering a few ??'s. (sorry for the hijack)

I'm not having any block issues with mine, but I've always been curious about MID liner replacements. Is it possible to replace just one liner if something castrophic happens, like a badly scored liner, or crack etc.. ?

Also, what is the max bore and stroke on the LS1 MID's?

Thanks in advance. Feel free to PM me the answers if you prefer.
Mike

Default MID liner replacement

Mike,

MID liners can be replaced individually should a wrist pin clip come out, ring break, etc. and score the wall. That is one of the selling points of the sleeve kits.

The bore size on your sleeves can go to 4.165". Darton makes a larger sleeve now for the LS1 which covers the range of 4.175" to 4.200" as well.

Maximum stroke length on your sleeves, I assume you have the earlier 5.675" liners, is 4.125". I had Darton increase the length of all their sleeves for the LS engines to 5.800" earlier this year. That extra length will accomodate a 4.250" stroke.
