we are going to do a cam swap this weekend on a 99z28. I know the lifters are underneath the heads and we dont plan to remove them. How do i hold the lifters in place so they dont fall down after we remove the camshaft? what will i need to do this?

The lifters are in the heads not under the heads, they are held in with 4 plastic guides.
Cam swap is okay to do in the car, I just done a heads and cam swap the weekend before last. I followed the guide on ls1howto. Here is a guide for the cam swap http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=23
Good luck.![Nod](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_nod.gif)
Depending on the ramp rate and lift on the cam it may be advisable to change the springs. What cam did you go for?
EDIT: yes this is the wrong section of the forum shoud be in Gen III Internal engine if you have an LS1.
