Default 402 stroker build

I am planning on buildign my 402 motor this winter and i was wondering what you guys thought of my setup, for the rotating assembly i was gona go with callies compstar crank, compstar rods, diamond -2cc pistons, i was gna buy the aluminum LS2 block and then im not to sure what heads or cam i should use with this setup. Im looking at making 500+ hp, also how much if any as to be done to the block in order for it to prepd for this setup thanks

The best I can say is don't go smaller than 225cc intake ports on the heads. And, the crank windage tray needs spacers.

I've had a 403 already built and I am using AFR 205's. They aren't stock however, and they are being worked for the 4" bore. I think if you're going to go with something off the shelf make sure it's set up for the 4" bore. I have a ported FAST and NW90 throttle body also. As far as cam, I went with a 242/242 XER 114lsa. It's probably a little small but I think with the 205's it should match up well. It will probably be done by 6300-6400 rpm's. I would suggest if going with something like 225's to go a bit bigger. The lager bores run out of air quickly as the rpm's go up. Make sure your exhaust is open too.

Before you go with -2cc pistons figure out what heads you want to go with and get your combustion chamber the right size. Then look at your SCR, DRC, and valve events and make sure your compression is correct. I had to go with 58cc chambers with -12cc pistons to get 11.5:1. If you are going with -2cc pistons you might have to go to a 72cc chamber and mill from there. It might be better to use less volume in the piston and keep the combustion chamber smaller. The longer stroke really boosts the compression. More swept cylinder volume going into the same size chamber gives a higher compression ratio.
