LS3 or LS7 heads

LS3 or LS7 heads
I am building a twin turbo LS2 engine (may end up being an LS3 block) with a 4" stroke and about 8.6:1 CR. I am wanting the most I can get from pump gas since this will be in a street rod. I am considering the LS3 (L92 type) heads as well as some LS7 heads for the build. What are your thoughts on the options (as well as any other variety head that might be wise)? I know the LS7 cost more, but are they worth it? Money is an object in this build.

Budget L92 heads are fine, but if you want the max then the LS7 is the way to go. I would put less into the heads, get the LS3 and put the rest into your turbos as I am sure that is the largest expense in the project save for the engine.

L92 heads are a bargain and flow well as is. With turbos, head flow becomes less important, as the heads can generally flow whatever you feed them. I bought a pair of AFR's on a twin turbo SBC 383 application a few years ago. Experience has now taught me that neither the stroker assembly nor the high dollar heads were necessary.
