Suggestions for winter storage, sort of...
---
What I am thinking is to 'seal' up the motor until I get ready to start it in the spring. I have a set of 241 heads I bought for a stock build and strips of the plastic bag the motor was shipped in over the cylinders. I also pressure primed the oil system with a pre-luber so there is a full pan of oil inside and throughout the galleries. I was thinking of placing the 241's on the cylinder with the plastic between (I have ARP studs mounted), and putting the water pump on to 'seal' the motor. I don't have gaskets, but I could get them. If I do this, should I wipe the cylinders with some oil to keep them from rusting? If not, what would you suggest?
If it has oil all over everything .I would just keep dust out cover it with towels
you're only talking a month now .
I wouldn't put plastic between the engine and heads holds moisture in and might stick
Just my .02

I had my engine sitting in my sted outside over the winter with just a large plastic bag over the engine and stand. I just stuffed rags in the open ports and taped they shut.
