i'll bet you Gilbert Chevrolet (formerly Sallee Chevrolet) would have them. Last time i checked they were $2,050 - not including shipping, because they are like 15 minutes from my house.

They are back-ordered from GM. There might be a couple dealers out there left that have never sold the one they got. Any volume dealer will be out by now.

I don't get it, for months few calls for LSX blocks, willing be competitively priced on them.

People hear 'backorder' and snap; dozens people need an LSX block yesterday.

The LSX block was on backorder for good portion of November. Another run of them shipped at the start of December.

The last one we shipped was # 2347 I think, figure they moved 2500 of them this year?

Well people, here's the deal in short.

The company (country) that GM had a deal with to make the blocks are having contractual problems. The tooling is also being faught over in the disagreements.

I had an LSX iron block for the past 8 weeks sitting at my builders shop. I sold it to a local guy because I was gonna get the tall deck LSX iron block for my project. Well, since the iron tall deck block is over 1 year away I can't wait on the build I've had planned out. I'm in the process of ordering all the parts and now I need a friggin LSX block again so I can start the build.

This was all confirmed at the PRI show last week.

Typical corporate bullshit.

I heard about this a few weeks ago. I was planning on getting a tall deck, too. Now i'm gonna have to settle with the standard, if I can find one when I need it that is.

We got all we could to finish up some builds that HAD to be done sooner than the next run will be ready both here and at a couple of our jobber shops....Like SpeedRacer said, there are 2 or so at dealers out there that we couldn't buy for a reasonable price (or we would have got those too).

Also, whats the part number for it? I searched here and couldn't find it.

Thanks.

Just go to or call your local dealer and have them do a search and they should find the 2 dealers. The part number is 19166454.

Jeez, I hope he gets them.

Thanks.
