need help with a 6.0 i'm putting a 6.0 LQ4 in a 95 caprice i use to drag racing...i'm not looking for crazy hp but i would like to change the cam just to give it a little more then stock....its rated at 300 and was hoping to get closer to 400 at the crank before putting it in but didnt want to change the internals too much if i could help it since i plan on doing a stroker built a couple of years from now....right now my main goal is to do a ls swap and make it work and then make crazy hp but my lt1 is putting over 260 at the wheels so i want a noticable gain putting in the lq4...what can i do to give it a little more without going crazy with it
uh yes, get matching valve springs for the lift on your cam, so it works. If you have stock springs that have shitty lift capabilities and you go to a nice cam, you wont be doing anything and/or you will break stuff in the valve train. You need springs with any or most cam swaps period. good luck with it
