few decisions needed .. Deciding cam/heads
Ok first off i have an 2005 6.0 aluminum block LS2 364ci going in a 99 Trans Am A4. With 4.005 bore diamond forged pistons with 2 valve reliefs. with scat I beim rods and 8725 Rod bolts . with stock Crank .. now my question is im having a little confusion i thought the ls2 had 243 casting heads but my LS2 came with 799 casting heads , These heads are pretty much junk right ? would it be worth changing the valve springs and rocker arms to 1.7 and the pushrods ? cause i was thinking about going with one of theses cams if possible

or this one ?

the lobe seperation angle seems a little high on this one , but seems alot more driveable , but probally not as much lobe
but wasnt sure if i wanted to use these heads or what . plus didnt know if there would be any clearance issues with this cam ? from what i've heard this is a small cam for the LS2 . Should i upgrade these heads ? or should they be ok ? or what heads should i go with ?

They are 2 completely different cams matey.
I had the 212 218 on 115 in mine and it made good power and very street friendly but I wanted more. The 222 224 on 112 will have more chop to it and make more power. One here installed into a LS2 went very well but wasn't as tame as the smaller cam.
No info on the heads at all sorry.
cheers

What are your goals for the car, and what range is your budget? If your goal is certain power range, then you need to look the entire package combination of your parts. Some cams that work well with X heads don't make the same power with Y heads.
Camshaft selection and drivability is also very touchy. I think one critical factor here is your access to tuning (or ability to do so) the more radical your cam selection is. Neither of the cams you listed are very aggressive and should be easily tuned for good drivability. I don't believe you would have any clearance problems with the cams you listed.
Shoot me a PM if you want to discuss some options.

Yup. I would go something 228/232. I ran a 228/232 612/600 111+3 I loved it. My plans have changed and since went bigger. Could easily be a daily driver. Being you have an A4, a good converter would be essential 36-3800 likely.

about cam .
ok that sounds good man , but i need to get my PCM at least sent out and tuned a little , and then trailer it up . would that be possible to tune the car without having the car there , by sending the PCM away ? if i gave them all my specs ?

You can drive it to get a dyno tune after a cam install. It will idle like crap if at all. It should go down the road ok though. Ask around to find a good tuner in your area. Dyno tune will run around $500 or so.
