The LQ4/LQ9 has iron cylinders that are integrally cast into the block. It is not a sleeved engine, nor is it intended to be by design.

The Tosto brother with the red Camaro, you might remember him from pinks VS his brother's blue Firebird. I think they post here too. But anyway. That Camaro had a Sleeved 421ci Iron block. I believe it was 13.0 compression NA and made a tad over 600rw. Ran 9's.

Maybe look him up on here.

EDIT nevermind, it was 15:1. and not even a sleeved block hahah 630 rw. Here's the thread.

i seriously doubt that its more expensive than 2000 bucks, there is a company that will do it for 1499 with donavan sleeves

We just finished my 6.0 block after boring it to 4.125. I am going to sonic test it next week and post results, probably here and on my website. It will be a 4.125 bore by 4.100 stroke with L92 heads, so we will see how well it works.

Here's the results from the sonic test that my shop did on my block before it was bored and honed to 4.031" https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....35&postcount=4. For the approximate dimensions now, you'd need to subtract .015" from each measurment. I did a fair amount of research on this subject and learned that my block was average in cylinder wall thickness. I wouldn't have wanted to bore this block any larger. I'll be running normally aspirated, so I feel comfortable with my cylinder wall thickness.

Note: Many cast iron blocks are sleeved and intended to be re-sleeved upon rebuild. I used to be a diesel truck mechanic and I've rebuilt a number of engines that were sleeved.

why would you spend $1500 to resleeve a $400 block when you could go buy a better block that has more bore for $2000.... makes no sense to me at all
