lol that you will be happy with the iron block, you wont notice the weight, and put the car on a diet to offset some of the weight like you were talking about.

Yea im thinking its the best choice. Also im no expert motor builder so if i have to rebuild it i can do it many times on a iron block...

I wonder is there any heat issues with the iron block and the ATI cooling fan? Will i need to get a better fan?

no issues overheating, but i did notice more heat soak on the dyno, not a overheating problem just after it heats up it stays up to temp longer.

Well like I said man, it all adds up. Just the iron block will add 90 lbs, then you figure the extra weight of the turbo kit (although you're already supercharged so it may be a moot point) and all the extras. Why spend 500 dollars for a k-member, 250 for new carpet, and still only be at half the weight spent on an ls2 block. You could do a hood too for another 25 lbs and still only be about 70 lbs of total weight savings for WAY more than the price of the block.

I found my ls2 block for 725 shipped, so you figure 325 bucks to save 90 lbs? It's a no brainer. Think how much money it will cost you to pull that weight back out in the long run should you ever want to go faster, and trust me we all want to go faster.

Very good point. But it seems like a pain in the *** to install a ls2..... All parts i can reuse ill just have to tap for the KR sensors? Maybe if someone had a write up on how to install a ls2 into a fbody i would have a better understanding.

Does anyone know if the TSP ls2 short blocks come ready to drop in a fbody? Or do you need all the little stuff still.
