Default Head/cam clearance questions...

With a set of worked 243 heads from companies like livernois, TSP, etc...

what size cam can you get to before u have to either fly-cut the pistons or whatever (on a stock LS2)??
How much does it cost to have pistons flycut?
Is there any positives or negatives that go with flycutting?
Is it better to flycut, or sink the valves?
Does sinking the valves (having the vendor do it) cause any problems with flow, or shrouding?

what else can you do to eliminate clearance issues?

If I were you I would call a sponsor and 1. have one custom worked for the cam of your choice or 2. Upgrade your pistons.

Flycutting was not an option for me, If my cam didn't fit my heads I was going to put in new pistons. Flycutting is an art and I would not let just anyone do it. The ones that do it well from what I understand prefer not to do it.

well, if a valve had clearance problems, what is "sinking the valve"??
how does this affect things?

We have built our cylinder heads specifically to have some additional clearances for larger camshafts or a little bit of extra decking
