Default Ls6 Heads On A L92 Block

My forged LS6 motor trashed the block and pistons, so I want to use the LS6
crank, forged rods, LS6 CNC ported heads, and a FAST 90 intake on a L92 4.07 block. This is in a 99 C5. For this L92 block I need Pistons: 4.07 with valve reliefs for the LS6 heads. Cam: new for the front cam sensor. New front engine cover for the cam sensor? New Valley Cover? Wiring harness extension for the cam sensor.
Is my LS6 oil pan OK? Rear Cover? Timing chain? Oil pump? What else?

Thanks for any input.

Does the LS2 valley cover have a baffled vent tube like the LS6?
What are you guys using for a high performance timing chain? I have a Crane double row adjustable now, that's not going to work with this new block. Are there any aftermarket sprockets/chains that are better than the LS2 chain.

Make sure you get the 24X reluctor wheel.
Oil pan OK
Rear cover take off your old block
Make sure wiring harness extension for knock sensors (2)
Make sure head gasket is for the larger bore(no LS6 size)
And all the normal little stuff

Not sure offhand
They have double roller LS2 timing sets

The LS2 valley cover, does it have a vent tube and baffles? I don't want to give up my LS6 valley cover if LS2 is not vented.

Anybody got a part # for the LS2 cam sensor?

You have to give up the valley cover anyways. The knock sensors are no longer on top of the motor.

I don't have the part number right now.

I have the part number for the LS2 valley cover. I want to know if it has a good breather system like the LS6. A lot of you guys are using a LS2 cover, What does it look like on the bottom?

It does have some baffles. I don't remember exactly what it looks like. I'm out of state at the moment and can't look at it. I don't remember for sure if the breather was there or not. I think it was though.

Here's a pic I found of an LS2 short block. It has the valley cover with a vent tube...not sure what the under-side looks like though.

Thanks Topgun, That breather tube looks just like the LS6. There has to be something inside. What is that big round protrusion that sticks up in the back?

That's the threaded port for the oil pressure sensor. Unlike the LS1/6 engines that have the oil pressure sensor port in the block, the Gen IV engines have it located in the lifter valley cover. (I'm sorta new to this LS_ stuff, but since getting my Suburban in May '07, I've learned quite a bit. I bought the GMPP LS1/6 Technical Guide, and am planning to swap in an LS6 crate engine for the 'Burb's 5.3.)

That's rad. It must have an O ring where it seals on the top of the block?
