Which block?
What is the biggest bore I can do on a 6.2 block iron or alunm? My set up now is a 6.o iron block with a 4.060 bore and a 4.0 stroke which = 414ci. I might need to rebuild it. I would like to re use the crank and other parts to keep the cost down but add more cubes. So what should I do.? What is the biggest motor I could get with a 4.0 stroke crank. 427ci? or even a 434ci? No sleeving the block either.

4.6" bore? that's like 532 cu. in.! sounds like you've got it just about maxxed out
seriously though, if money and time aren't factors, find a LSX block. other than that, i dunno the max bore on a iron 6.0 block, 4.1" maybe? that'd bring it up to 422" i think the 6.2's are a 4.030 bore....i'd just save the money and stick a 100 shot on it or something, but i also would prefer NA horsepower...i'm sure an expert will chime in..

Sorry guys post fixed. Like I said I have a 6.0 iron block with 4.060 bore which is 414ci. The heads i have are TEA/TFS 235cc heads. Which block would give me which cubes while using a 4.00 stroke. No sleeving either. 6.0block= 414ci. 6.2=? CUBES, 7.0=? CUBES. this is a street car. I make 550rwhp and would like 600+rwhp.

go with a lsx block. just understand they take alot of machining to get them good. gm didn't do a good job.
stroke is a 4.5 max
and bore is a 4.25 max.
i believe cubes are around 510. if i am off don't yell . just fix.
as long as you don't use spray. you can max this block. buddy and I built one this winter. runs great and is bad ***.

You should run an LS2 resleeved block, thats about the most cost effective way to swap over anything you have. For an N/A street car, the LSX block is overkill and over weight. Run the resleeved block at anywhere from 4.100-4.185........4.200 if you want to run on the ragged edge. I am going to run 4.160 for room to cleanup WHEN it has issues. LS2 block+ basically $1700 for all the labor and machining to have a ready to go resleeved setup. If you are serious, get with Steve at Race Engine Development. I would assume that Watt is who built your shortblock, right?
