I put mine together for under $5k using my heads and intake that I already had. Ran pretty good this past weekend too! I had under $4k in the short block.

check everything! and when your done checking, recheck 2 more times!! this is the golden rule in building it yourself!! if you take your slow sweet *** time using this golden rule, you can build a motor that you can take pride in nowing it was built right!

New evidence shows that the earlier fail of my 346 LS1 h/c swap wasnt my fault, Now was it the lifters fault (part failure)... someone has some explaining to do... (ill say more about it later)
