L92 Valvetrain adjustement questions
L92 Valvetrain adjustement questions I have adjustable Harland sharp rockers on a L92 head. These rockers are pedestal mount, shaft, rockers with set screw at the pushrod tip.
Hydraulic lifters,cam .630 lift
I am getting conflicting advice. Crane Cams is recommending .08-.09" preload. Other guys are saying that's too much.
What is the correct preload to put onto the lifter plunger (in .0xx in values please)??? Is it dependant on the type of lifter?
Anyone else using adjustable rockers on L92???

When I had with Comp lifters, they said .005 to .010. That sounds crazy, too close to 0 lash and they may really make noise. .08-.09 sounds pretty heavy. I usually set mine at about 3/4 turn on the adjuster which is .03-.04. They will compress a total of .140, so there is plenty of room.
Some people will probably tell us that they will "float" if you have them too tight.
