I just looked at my LS2 lifters and they had the hole facing toward the bottom of the block. Then I noticed on my LS7 lifters the hole is 90 or 270 degrees from the LS2 holes.

So I am looking forward to hearing what is the correct orientation of the LS7s since that is what I am installing.

I'm guessing placing them toward the rear since that is where the oil is routed from.

Question LS7 lifters

i am using ls7 lifters too , so if i face the oil holes on the lifters to the Front it wont make the lifters get any more or less oil to then as if i were to place the lifters 180* around facing the rear ? they will still get the same amount of oil either way ?

whats your opinion on this ? does it cut down on oil if i face the LS7 lifter with the oil hole faced toward the front of then engine ?

any suggestions would be appriciated . thanks again !!

it does not matter which way the oil hole faces.

a friend of mine says a lot of builders says it makes no difference, but he would rather have them face the front of the engine, he suspects the caddy lifter issue I had could have potentially been from this..

no way. the port in the block in which the oil travels through to the lifters is pressurizing the entire lifter. the hole in the lifter knows no difference
