whats the difference between l92 and ls2 blocks?

whats the difference between l92 and ls2 blocks? i searched around the forums and i couldnt find a definite answer to this but whats the difference between the l92 motor vs ls2? i see alot of people go with the ls2/l92/l76 combo, why not just get a l92 longblock with a l76 intake? is there flaws in the l92 block. and is a l92 just a stroked ls2?
trying to decide which block/head combo would be best to start off with, my goal would be 500-600ish whp n/a daily driven, and if there are major difference between them for hp wise.
