383cid LS6 Aluminum Stroker Short Block
Getting ready to possibly order this assembled engine from Texas Speed. Looking for a nice head and cam combo. Probley going to go with the fast 92/92 combo. Suggestions guys please. This is new for me, and I'd like as much feedback as possible before I do all this. I want it to be a solid track car and a nasty street machine. What would you guys go with?

(Patrick G and JRP come to mind here) Also, the guys at TSP should point you in the right direction as far as that goes.

man that sounds like a good setup, i went with som tsp heads and cam on my 383, ms4 was my cam choice with a set of the stage 2.5 5.3 heads. car runs solid 11.0's on motor, this is a ful weight street car too

I was looking for a similar setup myself. I decided I was going to go with an LS2 402 instead because I could use L92 heads down the road if I wanted to. The difference in price would not be that much and I think the extra torque would make it worth it. Plus you can use a way bigger cam and still retain some good street manners. If your going to stay with an alluminum block I say you should go with a 402. Either way good luck with your setup.

You can make nice power with a 383. You can make much better power spending the same or less with a larger bore.
Slow down, do some research about valve shrouding with the 3.905 bore. You will be glad You did.
