Default Ported and Polished LS2 Heads

Has anyone installed a set of port/polished LS2 heads on a stock LS2/LS1?

If so.. how much did you pick up?

I plan on getting the cam at later date..

i see that you're new to the site...first off, welcome! second off, you're going to have to get VERY familiar with the "search" function, espcially with questions like this one. there are a lot of people on here that take great pride in making you feel retarded for not using the search button rigorously before making a new post.

regarding your question, i'm assuming you're refering to "243" casting heads. there are a LOT of vendors on here that sell them CNC'd and flow pretty well. with the right cam on a 5.7L LSx you could expect 415-450rwhp depending on the tune/dyno/car/etc...

just try searching or browsing through the Dyno section...

Forget doing the heads now just do a cam swap as there is loads of power available before you need to swap them.
There probably isn't anything to be gained by just swapping the heads without a cam swap anyway.

cheers

ok.. let me explain exactly what I am doing..

at the same time I add the ported and polished heads, I will also be installing..

1.8 Rockers
1 7/8 Kooks with high flow cats
Borla stingers
MTI Tuning..

I am currently making 382 with MTI CAI and tuning..

now.. will the headers compliment the heads? I was thinking I would pick up 15-20 hp with heads.

I will do the cam, just at a later date. trying to be SNEAKY!!

Do a cam first and pick up twice that. The stock heads flow pretty good already. If trying to be sneaky, run a milder setup with a 114lsa...

Why would you do all that work to put the heads on and not put in a cam? You should put a cam in and forget about the heads for now. I wouldn't worry so much about the 1.8 rockers either. You can still get a great cam on a 115 LSA and will sound pretty much close to stock. Also, the heads you speak of are more than likely just ported, not polished.

I have basically the same setup in an '05 LS2 Vette . Not sure what the Dyno numbers are but the 285 tires cannot hold traction with the added HP. Running peak 24 deg of advance and kinda rich at 12.3 to 1 AFR. You will not be disappointed!

Man... I wish I would have known this before I ported a set of LS6 heads. Oh well.
