Default cam for trailblazer ss with 416 stroker?

looking at weight as a key factor suv weighs 5000 lbs. looking for daily driver want to get as much torque as possible. i have the shift points set at 6200.

228/236 .571/.578 112LSA +2 advance.

Big torque.

Overlap centered over TDC (for balanced power/torque)

Power peak around 5900-6000 rpm.

Shift at 6200 rpm.

Excellent street manners.

Easy on valve springs. You can run beehive springs.

what is a big torque cam for a stock ls3 in a tbss. want to have the same shift point of 6200 with headers.

You mean stock LS2? Big torque cam would be about 8-10 degrees smaller than the 416.

my stock ls2 motor threw a rod through the block because i had someone put in a cam with no lsx exp. was looking at a ls3 crate motor from gm. looking what cam size would be a torque monster for my tbss. i plan on getting a turnkey ls3 motor.

LS3 would be closer to 220/228 .564/.571 112LSA +2 advance.

Stunning low and mid-range torque in an LS3. Just the ticket for a heavy SUV.

i think i am going to go with the ls3 crate motor from gm. it is the 376/480. i think it has a 219/228 on a 112 so it should be real close to the one you speced out.

yeah, but he isn't giving you all the details on the cam plus you get the discount from TR.

I got my 243/251 in the mail and need to find time and money to get it installed.

I really like the came I got from SDPC a lot but I am running L92 heads & long tubes.
.224/.232 .585/.590 LSA 114 it is a Crane cam their own special grind. I wouldn't go any bigger in a heavy TBSS. It starts pulling hard at 3,000 rpm's up to shift point 6,400 rpm's. This cam with L92 stage II pull's like a 100 shot of nitrous in my truck over stock cam & heads. I have a Phoenix stall 2800 to 3000 and built tranny. It has a bunch of torque from 3,000 up to get my 4440 lb TBSS moving. I still breaking in new motor with Scat rods & Diamonds new pistons made for the L92 heads. I paid about $350.00 for it at SDPC. I got it the next day.
