Default ls2 performance questions?????

i bought a 2006 GTO 6.0L. I ran it at the track and got a 14.429 ET and a.318 reaction time. i am wheel hopping at the start. I am revving at 2000 rpm at take off. that was all i could do to minimize the hop. any ideas to grip better besides slicks? i am looking for some bolt on ideas to get into the 13's. i am willing to install a cam and maybe even heads. if i can get around 13.5 - 13.7 without going into the engine i would like that first. i am also wondering about the pcm. does anyone know how much i can do with the stock pcm or would it be better to get an aftermarket? and where would i be able to get one? i worked lot on mazda and mitsubishi so im not to familiar with GM and what i can do with it. anything helps any ideas. thanks

What was your 60ft ?Buy a set of cheap stocker rims and some drag radials to bolt on at the track.

A set of drag bags will help with the wheel hop a little. Your really not going to get rid of it unless you fix the real problem which is not enough tire grip. For reference my 06 auto with headers, 3400 converter, hptuners by me, and et streets on stock 17s ran consistent low 8.20s at 87 in the 1/8 mile. According to the calculators that should be high 12s very low 13s in the quarter. You should be in the mid 13s stock with a 6spd with good driving. No need to go aftermarket computer with what your wanting to do. There are some people running some pretty serious setups on the stock pcm with hptuners. If you have time and want to put the effort in to it hptuners would be the first mod i would recomend. Then a set of sticky tires like et streets.
