I would take it easy for 2-300 and change the oil. Look in the oil for anything out of the ordinary, check everything again and just to be safe go another 100 or so before beating the **** out of it.

Just make sure you use conventional oil in the originall break in period. You can switch to synthetic after you break the motor in. If you use the search there are multiple threads about this topic.

We use Valvoline VR1 20w50 in our fresh engines.

Have a very close tune in the car before its ever fired.

Run it through a couple of heat cycles, change the oil and filter, run the oil through a paint strainer and/or cut the filter.

If everything looks good refill again with VR1 and dyno it.

Drive it anyway you want to.

ive seen the link above before.

everyone has different opinions about it. id ask whoever built it/you got it from, incase there is a warranty on it. if there is, and something happens, at least you did it their way so they cant blame your break in. just a CYA

the way i was told to break my motor (when i get it from the builder). first run it at 1500rpm for 30/45min. change the oil. after fully cooling down, run it on the highway for 3-4hours varying the speed and load, not going above 4/4.5K. change oil again an run whatever i want and run it however i want after that.

As Robert said, a couple oil changes and its ready to go.
If it's built properly it's ready for action.

That link is a riot!! All its trying to say is there is no break in procedure anymore.
The rings dont have to "seat themselves".
