Is THIS normal?!?!
As far as the setup, it is a resleeved LS2 case with Darton LS7 sleeves, 4.125 bore/4" Callies crank/6.125" compstar rods, Diamond 4.125" LS1 pistons (its LS1 because when this motor was built, it was the only 4.125" bore piston avaliable from Diamond, the LS7 pistons weren't out yet).
ARP head studs were for 2004+ LS2 block, which is what I've got. I thought it was interesting as well that they were short, but I also didn't believe it would really affect anything.
As far as the pistons go, I just measured the piston rock at TDC and it is 25thou, is that normal? I'm about to see how far out the hole they are, measurements to come soon.
What do you guys think? Remember it is only on ONE side of the motor, not both.
I measured the compression height (how far the pistons are out the hole), and it is between .008-.014, and I was running 51 thou gaskets, so I don't see how it could even be making contact, I still have more than 35 thou clearance.
Thanks again,
Adrian
