Default Ls3 conversion running but pinking

Hi Guys, my ls1 to LS3 conversion is a runner, however she is pinking ( detonation ) real bad, compression ratio is up from 11:2 to 11.5:1 over the old build so not crazy up on compression. I knocked 8 degrees of timing out of the map and its now quiet, i did not have time to really get involved but will put more time into it on Monday. I think it will be a case of that she is running too lean because of increased capacity? The only other modifications i undertook that might affect this was valve unshrouding/bowl blending while at it. I also took out all of the casting flashing from the combustion chambers and runners as the Darts come rough cast.

I see, No i don't. I wanted to put a few miles on it bedding it in before putting her on the rolling road, so want to be safe on the settings. Obviously pinking is not good, i can alter my ECU settings to whatever i like but i want to take best guess while i'm running in.

You absolutely have to have the w/b in it from start up if you're tuning this motor yourself. Theadvanced pinging (not pinking) your hearing will destroy your motor, quickly, especially if you're running too lean. You should have also upped your VE table atleast 10%, and also be running colder plugs, TR6's preferrable, just to me on the safe side.
