Default L92 pistons with LS7 style heads??

Looking to possibly go with a different set of heads so I can get rid of the l76 setup and possibly go with a solid roller setup. We used oversized Diamond L92 pistons for my LS7 block with L92 heads. Could I just swap to a Ls7 style head or ETP ect without changing the pistons? This way I could use the Fast 92 setup and go big on the cam. Also, is there anything that needs to be done to the bottom end in oreder to run a solid roller setup? Such as something to the lifter bores? Thanks for the help guys.

Fast does not make a manifold for the ls7 head. I think you will be SOL anyway for a ls7 head with the valve reliefs. I would contact HKE or LG or someone else that has mucho experience with the ls7 heads.

As long as you check your PtoV clearance with the LS7 heads, you will be fine. Keep in mind though that the LS7 has 2.2 intake valves on a 12* angle, while L92 heads have a 2.16 valve at a 15* angle. You will probably gain a slight amount of clearance given the change in valve angles. Also, keep your compression in mind, LS7 heads come with standard 70cc chambers.

FWIW, I'm running LS1 4.125 pistons (only thing available at the time I built my motor) with LS7 heads, and I've got PLENTY of PtoV clearance, but of course it depends on the setup, so make sure you actually check it.

Good luck with the LS7 solid roller setup. Expect to spend several thousand dollars setting up the valvetrain.

Had it built with -3cc pistons for future use of a solid roller. There is plenty of room in there I am sure but would still double check everything. Thanks.
